On April 15, 2025, the Association "Integration Europe – East" organized a free training for teachers from the Końskie district as part of the project “Świętokrzyskie – development and partnership for professional counseling".
The session, led by psychologist Dr. Katarzyna Krzystanek, was held under the slogan “Modern competences important for the protection of children's rights and safety at school.” Its aim was to prepare educators to effectively respond to the threats that children and youth face online.
Thanks to the co-financing of the project by the National Institute of Freedom – Center for the Development of Civil Society, participation in the training was free of charge.
In today's world of widespread access to technology, children increasingly fall victim to social media addiction. Research by the Ombudsman for Children shows that one in three teenagers spends several hours a day online, neglecting other activities (source: NASK). Equally alarming are the phenomena of hate speech and cyberbullying. Hate on the internet, often stemming from a sense of anonymity, can lead to serious emotional consequences such as depression or suicidal thoughts. Cyberbullying, including harassment or the posting of compromising materials, affects a large portion of young people, while many parents and teachers are unaware of the scale of the problem.
The training aimed to equip teachers with tools to recognize and counter these threats. Thanks to such initiatives, educators can better support students in navigating the digital world safely.
We thank the teachers from the Non-Public Primary School in Końskie for their engagement and willingness to improve their skills in such an important area!
